We stayed in thunder bay KOA an extra day so i could get some planning and thinking done. Our plan is to leave early and drive 395 mikes to a KOA in Hixton, Wisconsin, and from there to South Bend, Indiana, and from there a place nearth Youngstown, Ohio, and from there home on Saturday, assuming all goes well.
I have been spending a lot of time trying to build Leben's spirit. We took two long jogs today with him in his CATV. I will take the time at each KOA to take him or at least one spin. When i return, i will use that for him until i am convinced he will not walk again. I would rather see him walking poorly rather than not walking, but for all i know, maybe he has a different preference.
The weather turned cold and foul today so i am thrilled i made my decision to camp out in one of those basic KOA cabins. They are not much bigger than my Defender(see photo) or tent and essentially are tents made if wood with a heater inside. About the same size as thevplace david thoreau lived in for a year when he wrote WALDEN.
