This blog is about my road-camping trip with my German shepherd dogs, Leben and Erde, from 19 Sept to 13 Oct 2012, which took us 3700 miles from DC to NY (and Beech Mountain), and then onto seven different provincial and national parks circling the Great Lakes. Just before Thunder Bay, Ontario, Leben became paralyzed, so we returned by way of Minnesota and then east to DC.

Day 20, 10/6, on the road to pukaskwas national park on lake superior

Terrible day. Rain all last night, but it stopped in time after we woke up. Temp outside 32 degees. Leben had an especially hard time walking thus morning and so i thought about heading back to DC. But then i realized that there is nothing that i can do back in DC that i cannot do on the road and it is easier to do it on the road. Morover, he enjoys the outdoors and all the new sights and smells, so we're heading north now.

Weather was real nice for a while than we hit snow storms on the highway, heavy at times. Snow, rain, fog. Ugh. Have 2 moe hours to go so maybe it will clear.

Photo is of Leben in hus front seat bed. Erde is in the back, just as comfortable. Decided not to ride with them n the roof rack. If they had their way, i might be up there.

Gotta get back to the road.
